Masterson’s Lounge, situated in the center of Moonee Ponds , advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my unfortunate encounter at this establishment became a nightmarish ordeal . While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I discovered behind its threshold was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.
The State of the Venue : Unhygienic and Neglected
From the moment I walked in , it was evident that hygiene was not a priority at this bar . The ground was covered in grime , and a pungent odor of old alcohol and neglected washrooms polluted the entire bar . Emitting a scent of a mixture of excrement , old age and sickness . The counter , which should be the centerpiece of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and debris that looked like it hadn’t been touched in ages . The bathroom was in even a more revolting state — backed up, with a broken handle and walls covered in what I can only assume was feces.
